The challenge we faced was that the crawl space had elevated humidity levels, which contributed to mold growth and musty odors seeping into the living space above. Left untreated, the moisture problem could have led to structural damage, air quality issues, and increased energy costs.
To address this, after a thorough inspection, Ryan Bond with the Jamison Basement Waterproofing team identified the key areas where moisture was entering the crawl space. Our specialists then implemented a comprehensive waterproofing solution that included:
• Sealing the crawl space with a durable vapor barrier
• Installing a WiseAire dehumidifier to regulate humidity levels
• Improving ventilation to ensure consistent airflow
• Addressing groundwater leaks with a GrateDrain drainage system along with a GrateSump Pump
Following the installation, the musty odor was completely eliminated. The homeowner immediately noticed fresher air and improved indoor comfort. By addressing the root cause of the moisture problem, the client not only removed the smell but also protected the home from future damage.

✅ Expert Diagnosis – Identified the root cause, assessed structural risks, and determined the best solution
✅ Reinforcement System – Installed carbon fiber straps to stabilize the foundation and prevent further wall movement
✅ Waterproofing Measures – Reduced hydrostatic pressure to help stop future damage
Project Manager Tim Pronesti went out to inspect the foundation. After the inspection, Tim recommended installing carbon fiber straps to stabilize the foundation and prevent any further wall movement.

The challenge we faced was providing an exterior waterproofing solution that would ensure a dry, mold-free basement by addressing the root cause of water infiltration through exterior water penetration and keeping the basement dry for years to come.
To address this, we installed an exterior waterproofing system with a waterproofing tar membrane on the foundation walls. This proved to be a successful solution for the homeowner’s damp basement concerns. By investing in this effective and durable waterproofing method, the client was able to secure a dry basement, prevent potential damage to the foundation, and enhance the comfort and safety of the home. The combination of excavation, membrane application, and drainage ensured that water would no longer be a threat to the property, making this a smart long-term investment. Project Manager Ryan Bond oversaw this project.
