The challenge we faced was that this basement had a wide footer, so we had to break out a little bigger than usual.

To address this, we installed a full perimeter drainage system along with a sump pump with water backup, and we dug the discharge line underground 10 feet away from the home for proper drainage.

The challenge we faced was removing the finished material to gain access to the foundation wall.

To address this, Project Manager Steve went out to meet with the homeowner and, after presenting a few solutions such as outside dampproofing and a sump pump with a drainage system, the homeowner chose the Grate Sump with a full vapor barrier and the Grate-Drain drainage system, which channels water below the basement slab to the Grate Sump.

Project manager Steve Custus recommended the Grate-Drain System which is an award-winning, patented below-floor Drainage system that rests infront of the footer on a bed of clean prewashed crush stone with inspection ports at every corner of the basement , with this system installed around the perimeter of the basement the homeowners will have a lifetime transferable warranty. We also installed a vapor barrier on the exterior walls for moisture control. And two Grate Sumps that combine can remove 4800 gallons of water per hour from the basement. Now the company contractors can get on with phase 2 of the Basement which will consist of finishing the basement.

The challenges we faced, besides the fact that she had a finished basement, were that the homeowner also had a second bathroom downstairs that we had to work around in order to install the drainage system properly.

To address this, we installed a full perimeter closed Grate-Drain drainage system with a new Grate Sump and 1/3 HP Fast Sump. We also installed a vapor barrier behind the finished walls and a Grate Trench at the door entryway to prevent any water from entering the basement from the Bilco doorway. This system offers a lifetime warranty. Now Michelle can have peace of mind and refinish her basement later down the line without the fear of it ever flooding again. She also has one year of free annual maintenance, during which we will return annually to clean out the Grate Sump and test the pumps for her. Problem solved.
