Project Manager Steve went out to meet with the homeowners and proposal the grate drain closed Drainage system with full vapor barrier and a high volume high efficient dehumidifier to approve the air quality throughout the home and reduce the moisture levels in the basement.. Senior Foremen Ken McKnight went out with crew to execute the project Managers and homeowners plan to create a healthy basement.. After two long days the job was complete and the homeowners could noticed the difference in the humidity almost immediately . Now they can refinish the Basement without the fear of a wet damp basement ruining things ..

Senior Project Manager Ed Went out to sit down with the clients to hear about all their concerns with their basement. Ed recommend the homeowners reduce the relative humidity in the basement by bring it down below 50% this would make the basement more comfortable and preventing mold growth at the same time . Ed explain how important it is to choose the right size dehumidifier , because of the size of the basement Ed recommended the compact model dehumidifier that covers up to 1700sq . We also closed up the open Sump pit that was humidifing the air with tons of moisture. Last but not least we replaced all the old leaky windows in the basement , because it’s key when trying to condition the air in the basement you keep all outside air out of the space. The challenges we faced were that it was a very large basement, requiring around 240 feet of drainage system with a full vapor barrier and 3 sump pumps. Another challenge was that the floor in the lower basement was very hard to jackhammer in order to install the system.

To address this, we installed a full drainage system with a complete vapor barrier and 3 sump pumps.

Project manager Steve recommended a closed sub floor Drainage system called GrateDrain to redirect water from under the basement floor at the floor wall joint to the new GrateSump , the GrateSump can remove up to 2400 gallons of water per hr from the Basement. He recommended a window well drain that would catch any water inside the window well before it reaches the window and channel the water in the grate drain drainage system below that will channel the water to the Grate Sump . We had to remove the finished material to access the foundation walls where the source of the water was.

To address this, we provided the investors with a partial system that would control any water entering the basement from the currently leaking areas. We installed a closed drainage system with an airtight Grate Sump and a vapor barrier on the walls to channel any wall leaks down into the new drainage system.

Now the property owners can refinish the basement, and the tenant will have full use of her basement. Problem solved.

Veteran Crew Foreman ( 10 years ) Dwight Custus went out to look at the problem and concerns of the homeowner. The end result was Jamison replacing the old sump pump and pit with a new Grate Sump combo sump pump system which can remove close 6,000 gallons of water per hr from the basement. Another challenge we faced was that a concrete slab was in the way, so it had to be removed and put back by us in order to complete the installation. To address this, we installed a below-grade dampproofing solution with tar and membrane on the outside of the foundation wall.
