We provided the new homeowners with a level 1 Healthy Basement Certificate. This consisted of a primary 1/3hp GrateSump pump and a full perimeter GrateDrain (Closed ) drainage system .. Far as structural support gore project manager Steve Custus recommended carbon fiber straps to take the load off of the block foundation. Our Project Manager Ed went out and told Kathy she could kill two birds with one stone by replacing her old, leaky basement windows with new glass block airtight security windows, while also ducting her dryer to the outside. So, it was a no-brainer for Kathy to move forward with the work. She loves the windows, and now she no longer has to deal with the high humidity after every use of her dryer. Problem solved.

Project Manager Steve Custus went out and talk things over with the new homeowners and to bring the high levels of moisture down he recommended a high volume high efficient dehumidifier. We also coated the walls in floor with a moisture blocking concrete paint . To give the Basement a nice clean finish look !

We installed a new Grate sump with Grate-Trench across Belico door area to capture any water trying to enter basement and redirect to the Grate sump pump . The Grate sump will pump the water into the sewer line which is code in Philadelphia.

Project manager Steve went out to meet with Robert . Robert who is confined to a wheelchair told Steve how he was upstairs when he heard somebody trying to enter his home through the basement Windows and how the window was still broke out and the wind comings through the window it blew the heater polite out so he didn't have heat right now . So Steve seen the pain in Roberts story so he made a few phone calls and by 3pm Robert had all new glass block windows and he was able to now call peco to get his heat cut back on ..Problem solve !

The challenge we faced was that it was raining on the day of installation, so water was filling up the basement while we were fixing the problem.

To address this, Project Manager Ed recommended a Grate-Drain drainage system with a new Grate Sump in the low spot to capture the groundwater seepage and discharge the water into the sewer according to Philadelphia code. As shown in the photos, after our system was installed, the basement began to dry up almost immediately.

We provided the homeowners with an air-tight heavy duty crawlspace encapsulation system the will reduce moisture/ Radon gas and bugs entering their home through the dirt crawlspace. You could notice the damp moisture smells starting to go away soon as the project was complete .. 9 year Veteran crew Foremen : Dwight C with the great work !
