The challenge we faced was that the house had sagging floors and uneven support due to the original joists in the crawl space failing.
To address this, Ryan Bond recommended sistering the joists in the crawl space as an effective way to reinforce the structure, especially in this older home with a compromised support system. By addressing the damaged joists, this method can restore the structural integrity of the home without the need for extensive replacements. Regular inspection and maintenance of crawl space conditions, including moisture and ventilation, are also important to help prevent future issues.

The challenge we faced was providing an exterior waterproofing solution that would ensure a dry, mold-free basement by addressing the root cause of water infiltration through exterior water penetration and keeping the basement dry for years to come.
To address this, we installed an exterior waterproofing system with a waterproofing tar membrane on the foundation walls. This proved to be a successful solution for the homeowner’s damp basement concerns. By investing in this effective and durable waterproofing method, the client was able to secure a dry basement, prevent potential damage to the foundation, and enhance the comfort and safety of the home. The combination of excavation, membrane application, and drainage ensured that water would no longer be a threat to the property, making this a smart long-term investment. Project Manager Ryan Bond oversaw this project.

One challenge we faced was restoring the crumbling walls, which required the use of wire mesh, often referred to as wire lath, and Portland cement to provide strength, stability, and moisture resistance. This technique was especially important in a home that had experienced significant water damage and where traditional masonry repairs had failed.
To address this, Ryan Bond recommended rough-casting the damaged foundation areas and installing a sump pump along with a French drain drainage system. This solution effectively handled both the structural and moisture issues in the basement. It not only restored the stability and integrity of the basement walls but also helped prevent future water damage, giving the homeowner a cost-effective and lasting fix to the foundation problems.
The end result was a five-star review.

The homeowner understood that finishing a basement without proper waterproofing could expose him to the risk of water damage, particularly in a region prone to heavy rain. To address this concern and ensure the basement would remain dry for years to come, we provided a comprehensive waterproofing system designed to protect the space even during the heaviest rains.
🔹 New Sump Pump with Battery Backup: We installed a state-of-the-art sump pump with battery backup #GrateSump to ensure 24/7 protection, even in the event of a power outage.
🔹 Patent Great Drain System: Our GreatDrain Perimeter Drainage System was installed around the entire basement to intercept and redirect water away from the foundation, preventing any water from entering the basement at the floor wall joint.
🔹 ThermalShield Moisture Vapor Barrier: We applied our advanced Thermal Shield Moisture Vapor Barrier to the walls, which creates an impermeable seal against moisture while also improving energy efficiency and adding some insulation value to the foundation walls.
🔹 WiseAire 100 High-Efficiency Dehumidifier: To maintain optimal humidity levels below 55%, we installed our WiseAire 100 High-Efficiency Dehumidifier, which helps keep the basement air dry and prevents mold growth.
🔹 One Free Year of Maintenance: To ensure everything continues running smoothly, we included one year of free annual maintenance for the sump pump, dehumidifier, and waterproofing system.

The challenge we faced was having a large breakout and debris removal because it was a fairly large basement.
To address this, Project Manager Steve Custus went out to meet with the homeowners and provided them with a Level 4 Healthy Basement Certificate, which consists of a nationally backed warranty on the GrateDrain perimeter drainage system, ThermalShield wall vapor barrier for wall protection, and a GrateSump with a battery backup inverter for 24-hour protection.
We will also service the homeowner’s system for free for the first year.

The iBasement Systems and Crawl Space Systems Certificates were created using specific sets of criteria to provide a healthy indoor living environment. Air pollutants and excessive moisture levels in the basement or crawl space can negatively impact the odors in the home as well as cause health problems with those who live there year-round - including yourself!
We offer 6 levels of iBasement Certificate, and 5 levels Crawl Space Systems Certificate, each designed to solve specific problems and protect your home, family, and property value on the long run.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
