One challenge we faced was restoring the crumbling walls, which required the use of wire mesh, often referred to as wire lath, and Portland cement to provide strength, stability, and moisture resistance. This technique was especially important in a home that had experienced significant water damage and where traditional masonry repairs had failed.
To address this, Ryan Bond recommended rough-casting the damaged foundation areas and installing a sump pump along with a French drain drainage system. This solution effectively handled both the structural and moisture issues in the basement. It not only restored the stability and integrity of the basement walls but also helped prevent future water damage, giving the homeowner a cost-effective and lasting fix to the foundation problems.
The end result was a five-star review.
