The challenges we faced were jackhammering through a new 6-inch solid poured floor.
To address this, Basement Waterproofing Specialist Ed inspected the property and met with the homeowner. With over 15 years of training and experience, Ed explained that the basement needed a sump pump, a sub-floor drainage system to handle the amount of incoming water, and a high-volume dehumidifier to reduce the humidity.
Senior Crew Foreman Dwight Custus was on site bright and early to get this project underway. The first day involved demolition, removing about 10 inches of the solid concrete floor from around the perimeter and drilling weep holes in the block wall to relieve hydrostatic pressure. The next day, the crew returned and installed the new GrateSump and closed drainage system with fresh concrete.
Now the homeowners have a lifetime transferable warranty that their basement will be free of groundwater seepage for the life of the home.
