I have a wet basement; will a sump pump solve my problem?
A sump pump alone may keep your basement dry. However, many times it is necessary to install a perimeter drainage system. A drainage system will direct the water to the sump pump location. By installing a sump pump with a perimeter drainage system, you will be guaranteed to have a dry basement forever.

My basement has a damp odor, can I just get a dehumidifier?
Generally, a good dehumidifier will reduce the overall humidity to a comfortable level. However, there are some things that a dehumidifier can't do. A dehumidifier will simply recycle the same stale air. Also, because a dehumidifier has a compressor, it will draw a lot of power and require maintenance. Additionally, if the humidistat is set too low, the unit may freeze and not be able to function. A better solution would be a BonAire® by Humidex. This will not only reduce the humidity, but it will draw fresh air from the upstairs and exhaust the stale, musty air from the basement. Also, because there is no compressor, the unit will run quietly, never freeze, and use substantially less electricity.

I have a wall crack in my poured concrete foundation. Can this be fixed?
We haven't seen too many poured concrete foundations that do not have any cracks. For the most part, they're minor and can be repaired with a simple crack injection, which will stop water infiltration. However, sometimes there can be dynamic cracks, which are more severe and could be a structural matter.
